| Elliot 04/07 - 06/09 Murray 01/08 - 06/09 Elliot died some time during the day on Wednesday, presumably from old age. He was the last of my original four. Joey found him late in the evening before I got home. He was mostly eaten. It was awful. Last night, I heard [what I thought was] the rats wrestling and found Murray underneath one of the babies. I waited for a second to see what they were doing, and when Murray tried to get up, he was unable to and the baby was biting him all over. I grabbed him out of the cage. He was totally exhausted and had bites all over his back and sides and his mouth was bleeding. I put him in a separate cage and gave him fresh water and plenty of good food. I checked on him this morning, and he was taking a lab block into the wicker ball I had placed in there for him. When I got home from work, he was dead; curled up like he had been sleeping, with the uneaten lab block next to him. I buried him in the back yard. ~ Rowdy went to the vet a week ago for a blood test. The results were normal, but he's still itching like crazy and his limp isn't getting better. We're doing a food trial with him now. I just want my dog fixed. Had to take my car into the shop today because it was overheating. I had to drive with the windows down and the heat on full blast. The shop didn't call me before they closed today, so I guess it will be there until tomorrow. I hope it's not a lot of money. Forgot to pay my web hosting bill; the clinic's website and email is currently down. Bought shoes from Academy that I shouldn't have. I think I need a size 9 but they only had size 8. I really liked them so I bought them anyway. I will have to return them. People are ignoring me and it sucks (not any of you reading this). I hate when people pretend to like you but you have a hunch that they don't really, at least, not as much as they say they do. Lost one of my new earrings at Barton Springs. Relationship problems (and feeling crappy about them, since they're my fault). Not feeling so good right now. | |

| Well, we got a little bit further on the whole home mortgae pre-approval thing, but only after we called Wells Fargo again. However, again they told us they would Call back and haven't. I told Joey to call them monday to see what we can get. Though from the preliminary info that the lady gave us, I don't think we can afford as much as we wanted. We will either have to sacrifice square footage or quality, or we'll have to live further from Austin. Taylor is now on our list, and we actually saw two nice looking homes today online. Just gotta make sure we'll get the money, then contact the realtor I have in mind. Oh, and they aren't going to be able to fix the TV until Wednesday. I'm going to try to take the day off, which actually might be nice and I can get some stuff done (the window is 8:00am to Noon, so that'll leave me some time in the afternoon to do stuff. Any recommendations for good books to keep me busy until then are welcome. We saw The Hangover today. Thought it was really super funny. I LOL'd a lot. Might even say I LMAO. I like Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis. :3 | |

| We have had roofers working on the house since 7:30 this morning. They probably left a little before 9:00pm.
By the way, I had no idea that they were coming over until Carrie told me about it yesterday evening. Apparently the guys showed up at her door at 7:45 on Friday to drop the materials off. Gee, it's really nice of our landlords to let us know that this would be happening, especially since the dog has to be locked up all day to allow the roofers access to the back yard.
They also unbolted the satellite dish from the roof to be able to put the new roof down. The problem with this is that now we don't have any satellite signal because I think they put it back slightly off from it's original place. We went out to look at it, and I just don't see what we can do, other than a lot of moving it a tiny bit and checking if it works, then moving it again, checking, etc. Going to try to mess with it a little bit tomorrow, but I think we're just going to have to have someone from DirecTV come out and fix it.
Haven't really eaten much today, or yesterday for that matter. I'm kind of hungry, but nothing really appeals to me.

| Got the Martin's cage all put together yesterday and cage liners made. Today I put the rats in it, and they seem to like it well enough. The babies have been flying around it and wrestling all night. Patrick can't understand why the liners don't come up at the edges; he's been scooting around the sides of the cage, trying to get under the fabric, and it cracks me up. He looks like a cat or ferret or something. I guess I'll have to put something in there that he can get under. I tossed out almost all of the old hammocks, since they were completely eaten up. I plan on making some new ones, but I might have to also order a new envelope from you, thepinkcupcake. ~ Talked to someone who seems to be the only person at Aquariumplants.com who is actually friendly and not stupid today. He was really apologetic about the whole thing and super nice. He refunded my money almost immediately after I talked with him. I used the refund to buy a new flat iron. :) So my aquarium will still be sparse, but at least my hair will look good. I ended up buying a FHI flat iron. I tried getting away with buying a cheap one from Target but just ended up returning it. I didn't want to spend $100+ though, so I found one that wasn't going to break the bank but that had good review and was from an (apparently) good brand. We'll see how it works when it arrives. Stayed up too late again. Tomorrow at work is going to suck because today was miserably boring/slow, and Fridays are always the worst because no one is ever there. I want a vacation already! | |

| My new Martin's cage should come tomorrow. I was really hoping it would show up early today, but according to the FedEx website, it didn't leave Ft. Worth until like 5pm, so I guess the rats and I will have to wait one more day. My order status with Aquariumplants.com still says "processing". Wednesdays are the latest day in the week that they will ship, so if it isn't shipped by the time I get home from work tomorrow, I'm going to call and cancel. They better not give me any trouble about it being "nearly impossible" to refund with PayPal. | |

| Joe and I just got back from watching Up at the Alamo Drafthouse. It was super cute, and I really liked it. Except it DID make me cry. Stupid Disney! Still, really good. Was impressed with Dug's (the main dog) movements and everything. Now I will have to go by the Disney Store and pick up a Dug toy. :)
Got a haircut yesterday; I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but now I really do, now that I've messed with it a bit. I think it was of the way she styled. The cut is great, but there was just something about it. Joey likes it and I got a lot of compliments at work, so that helped. Got a fair amount of hair cut off so I'll be nice now that it's hot out.
My Martin's cage shipped yesterday so it should arrive soon. I got some matching fabric today so I can decorate it when it gets here. - Tags:movies

| I ordered some plants for my aquarium from a place called AquariumPlants.com. I'm really annoyed with them right now.
I placed my order two weeks ago and selected two-day shipping. You have to get the two-day shipping for the plants. I also ordered an algae magnet for the tank. Their website says that if you order before noon on a Wednesday, they will ship out that week. I placed my order Tuesday night. The weekend came and went without any plants. I thought that maybe they needed to ship out the next week for some reason, but that I would get my plants soon because the website says they ship Mon-Wed.
By Wednesday, the website still said my order was "processing". I emailed them and didn't hear anything. So, I emailed them again. The guy replied and said that he had already responded to my email once, but that the magnet was back-ordered and that's why my order hadn't shipped. First off, I never got the first email, but I thought that maybe it went into the spam folder and I deleted it. Second, the website never said anything about the magnet not being in stock, nor did they contact me at all to let me know my order would be delayed. I replied and asked it if was possible to ship the items separately, or even cancel the magnet and just get the plants and keep the difference as a credit on their website. I mean, if I'm shelling out extra money for two-day shipping, I expect my order to arrive in a reasonable time. Maybe like, two days? I dunno.
I haven't heard back from them yet. I was giving them until today, since Monday was a holiday, but nothing yet. What's really annoying is their website says, "We will EARN your business, and we will do anything and everything it takes to keep you as a satisfied return customer" and "great customer service" and even "your purchasing experience is guaranteed to be a pleasant one. If you have a problem with anything or you are not satisfied in any way, we will take care of the problem and do whatever it takes to ensure that you are pleased enough with our company to do business with us over and over again...that's our promise and our commitment."
I think I am going to call them tomorrow and get this straightened out. I could have bought all my stuff from somewhere else and had it by now.
I JUST WANT MY PLANTS.
~
Also, went to a baseball game today with my parents and grandparents. Had a lot of fun. Staying up too late ... time for bed.
ALSO, don't ever sign up for Women's Health Magazine's website. I like the magazine but have received so much junk email (all relevant to their topics, of course), it's crazy.

| Had a good weekend, bummed that it's over though. I could really use a vacation!
Saturday, I went over to my friend Alyssa's new house to join a few other people in helping her paint, mainly. She bought a house not too long ago, that's structurally nice but nothing had ever been changed in the 40-ish years since it was built and decorated. Lots of 70's colors and decor! She's pretty much gutted everything, and had already taken out two walls. I stayed from 1:00pm to about 9:30pm helping paint and all that. Tonya and her girlfriend Adrienne stayed until late too, and the four of us went out to Chili's afterward. I always forget how good their chicken tenders are.
Sunday was spent playing Sims. ALL DAY. Maybe I shouldn't buy Sims 3. Joey also sprained his ankle playing basketball with his brother, and had to go to the ER. He's got crutches now.
Today I went over to my grandparents' and had BBQ with them, my parents, and my grandpa's brother. I wish I could make BBQ at least half as good as my grandpa. Then we were lazy and looked at old photos; I left early to come back to Joey.
On the way home, I bought some new dog food for Rowdy. The stuff I just bought him is giving him bad gas and nasty diarrhea. I kind of want to blame it on the fact that I bought the bag with the hole in it to save $2. The guy told me they had just accidentally cut it open when unloading it. That's probably true, and it's probably not tainted or anything since he's been eating it for at least a few weeks and just now started having problems. It's probably just too rich for him. So, I bought a new bag of the stuff I know he's good on, and also bought him some raw turkey necks (which he ate already) and a bag of raw food. I would like to feed him more raw food, but he goes through it so fast, I can't really afford it.
Tomorrow night I'm going to see a baseball game with my parents and grandparents. Joey's not going, so I have an extra ticket, and Carrie's out of town. I dunno what I'll do with it. Tomorrow I might also try to grab some of the photo albums from my grandparents and scan some of the photos in. There's some good ones in there.
Now back to laundry and television before bed ...
Happy Memorial Day, everyone.
